We believe that if we are to be an authentic, New Testament church then we must pattern ourselves after the church that Jesus built. Jesus called out from the world, a church that gathered locally, received authority to baptize from God who had first given that authority to John the Baptist. After salvation and baptism, those who made up this assembly were then established in the faith and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Before Jesus ascended to his Father he gathered his church one last time in Galilee and commissioned them to preach his gospel, baptize those who believed, and then build them up in the faith. This, therefore, must be our purpose. We endeavor to preach the gospel through soul-winning outreach in our surrounding communities, baptize those who repent of sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, and establish the saints through the preaching of the Word of God. In short, our design is that the activities of Promised Land Baptist Church would all be guided by this purpose.
